Larcomes Solicitors with offices in Portsmouth and Waterlooville has scooped the highly prestigious title of Law Firm (Small) of the Year at this year’s inaugural Hampshire Law Society Awards Dinner on 21st May, which took place in Gunwharf Quays.
All nominations for the four awards that were being awarded by the Hampshire Law Society (were for Solicitor of the Year over 5 years PQE, Junior Lawyer of the Year and Law Firm of the Year both small and large). Nominations were judged by an experienced panel of Judges, leading figures from law, business and academia.
The panel of Judges were looking for clear evidence of a firm who is committed to the development and welfare of their staff, a firm that could demonstrate that outstanding client service was an integral part of what everyone embraced within the firm and the Judges also wanted to present this award to a firm that could show beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are doing something genuinely different with both their local community and with various local charities.
The Judges also wanted a firm that could demonstrate a high level of professionalism and expertise for all its clients. Larcomes who are ISO accredited are also Lexcel Accredited. They have also been awarded a significant number of accreditations and memberships by a variety of independent, professional bodies and they are a Good Lawyer Guide Recommended Firm.
Together with the fantastic accolade of winning the Hampshire Small Law Firm of the Year Award, Richard Hopgood from within the firm also won the runners-up prize for Solicitor of the Year (over 5 years PQE). Richard demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt his dedication and commitment to his area of law by his involvement on a pro bono basis in a Trial Steering Committee (TSC) for a national study being undertaken by a panel of leading experts to learn more about improving the quality of life when treating malignant mesothelioma (http://www.respect-meso.org/).
