Representatives from Larcomes LLP Solicitors attended the Young Carers group at the Carers Centre on 30 November to present them with a cheque for £7,241.21.
The money had been raised by the solicitors via a range of fundraising activities including car boot sales, an afternoon tea and a raffle. Ten intrepid Larcomes employees and their family and friends also swam the Solent to help raise the money.
Amanda-Jane Shackleton from Larcomes LLP Solicitors said: “We chose to support the Portsmouth Young Carers because we wanted to raise money for a good cause which would make a real difference to young people in the city.”
“We have visited the young carers group to understand the role they play in supporting young people with caring responsivities in the city. Young carers often take on both practical and emotional caring responsibilities and it’s important that they have a support network group themselves to help them. The money that we’ve raised will be spent on activities that the group can enjoy together to help them take time out for themselves.”
