Cyber Essentials Plus is the highest level of certification businesses can achieve under the Cyber Essentials scheme and is awarded to firms who meet the relevant standards after a hands-on technical verification of their practices and policies.
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats and security attacks.
As well as helping to guard our systems against potential cyber-attack, the Cyber Essentials accreditation reflects Larcomes’ commitment to cyber security and the high standards we have in place to protect our clients and suppliers.
By holding a Cyber Essentials certificate, clients can be assured that we have a clear picture of our firm’s cyber security level and are working to secure our IT systems against attack.
Certification gives clients peace of mind that our defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber attacks due to the fact these attacks are looking for targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place.
There are two levels of certification under the Cyber Essentials Scheme, with Cyber Essentials Plus being the highest accolade that firms can achieve. The Essentials Plus accreditation builds on the verified assessment process established during Cyber Essentials, which helps firms avoid the consequences of phishing attacks, malware, ransomware, password guessing and network attacks.
The Cyber Essentials scheme was launched in 2014. Over the past ten years 120,000 certificates have been awarded to businesses, charities, educational institutions, law firms and other organisations who have demonstrated the required level of commitment to cyber security.
The government requires all suppliers bidding for contracts involving the handling of certain sensitive and personal information to hold an up-to-date Cyber Essentials certificate.
