What advice would you give people facing a family law issue?
The most important thing to do is to get legal advice from a specialist solicitor as soon as possible.
Most family lawyers will suggest trying family mediation first to try to resolve an issue if the circumstances are right.
If it is possible to avoid court proceedings, do so, as litigation can be costly, stressful, and drawn out.
However, sometimes court proceedings are essential to ensure a case does not drift and a result is achieved.
