The opportunity

We are seeking a capable, empathetic and motivated Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our respected Industrial Disease team in Portsmouth. This is a rewarding opportunity to work on complex, high-value claims for clients living with life-limiting conditions and respiratory disability caused by occupational exposure to asbestos.

About the role

Working as part of a supportive and specialist team, you will manage your own caseload and play an important role in progressing complex asbestos related claims from start to finish and supporting the team with events and fundraising for HASAG.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking detailed instructions
• Gathering and reviewing evidence.
• Understanding medical issues in relation to asbestos illnesses.
• Preparing cases and running cases in the specialist list in the High Court.
• Preparing schedules of loss and damage.
• Negotiating and settling cases.
• Attending marketing and networking events with HASAG.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Solicitor with at least 3 years’ PQE, or equivalent Legal Executive with relevant experience in this area of work. You will be organised, proactive and confident working to deadlines, with strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to client care. You will bring empathy, sensitivity and professionalism when supporting clients and families through challenging circumstances.

Working arrangements

This is a full-time role based at our Portsmouth office with remote and hybrid working arrangements available.
